Thanks for connecting with us about the Fish Sticks College Outreach Program — the first of its kind for us or for any faith-based improv comedy team. There’s a lot more than can be communicated in a single webpage, but here’s the short version:
Fish Sticks Comedy is the nation’s largest Christian improv comedy team. We don’t just perform for churches or Christian ministries, but it’s a large part of what we do and an important part of what we do. Currently, we have two troupes — one in Milwaukee where we started and one in Dallas — and are expanding that soon to Atlanta and Denver in 2019.
In part due to our size and in part due to the energy that comes from all the different perspectives and synergies in our group, we’ve learned some things about how to do improv that much better and how to do ministry that much better. And that’s something worth sharing with the next generation of improvisers who want to do great improv for Kingdom purposes.
So here’s how it works: A participating college, or group of college students, would have an on campus cast of improvisers. Fish Sticks will provide that cast the opportunity with resources and training to learn and develop the craft of comedic improv, share our approach to ministry and serving our audiences and others, mentoring and coaching, and so much more. The college troupe will also get discounted admission to the annual national Christian Improv Comedy Conference that we sponsor (more info at www.christianimprovcomedy.com) and other benefits.
If all that sounds of interest to you or for your campus, step one in getting involved is telling us a bit about you and your school. We anticipate there will be plenty of first-timers involved in any college improv troupe — so if you’re early on in your improv journey, don’t let that dissuade you from reaching out. And, of course, ask us any questions that you might have!
You can reach out to us and provide the requested background info on you using the contact form below or just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking forward to meeting you!
